East Village penthouse in New York with a built-in slide

East Village penthouse in New York with a built-in slide New York has many lavishing estates to offer, but one infamous penthouse in East Village is quite unique. The duplex 2,500-square-foot Manhattan apartment has taken the concept of a grown man’s playground and applied it, quite literally.

It has an 18ft long built-in, silver slide, made from stainless steel, featuring custom-made glass railings. The slide begins from the second floor office and lands between the first floor living and dining spaces. The owner bought and combined two apartments in the building and wanted to have a fun creative way to go from one floor to the other.  It took three months for an Oregon company to design the slide and install it in the apartment. The extravagant accessory costs $250 thousand.

Luckily, there is also an Italian-made Rintal staircase as an alternative for the less adventurous.  Although the not so "elegant" slide is quite the centerpiece of the apartment, the rest of the penthouse is staggeringly sleek and quite minimalistic. There are four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a game room (with a one-of-a-kind $35,000 glass pool table), an 18-foot atrium and a private roof deck, which features views over Manhattan from all angles.

This masterpiece of a property is owned by the professional online poker player Phil Galfond, who is only 26 years old. He decided to sell, due to the uncertainty of the legality of online poker in the U.S., as a precaution for more difficult times. The penthouse is listed on the market for $3.9 million.
