Properties in London: the headquarters of "Apple" will be in the British capital

The American technological concern Apple is going to move its headquarters in London to a new location in the vicinity of the abandoned Battersea power station on the banks of the Thames, where currently is running a large-scale construction and reconstruction, reported the online edition TheMoveChannel.com.

The company will be the key tenant of an office building with total area of more than 45 million square meters, occupying about 500 thousand square meters on 6 floors.

The deal is the largest in London over the past 20 years outside of the West end, notes the edition.

It is expected that the company will move to the new building in 2021. It will bring together all of the 1 400 employees in the British capital, which currently operate in 8 places, writes FT. Moreover, the area of the new headquarters in the British capital would be sufficient to accommodate 3 thousand people, so the company thinks for its further expansion.

The main headquarters of Apple in Europe will remain in Cork, Ireland, where there are about 6 thousand employees.

It is believed that this transaction will have a huge support to the project of renovation of the space around the old power station in London, performed by a consortium headed by the Malaysian company.
