The Spanish Association of Land Registrars recently published a report for 2016 and according to them, the number of transactions with foreigners increased by 15% over the year. Total foreign buyers purchased 53,500 objects.

Most of the transactions were made with the British (10,156), the French (4338) and the Germans (4121). In the local market are also active buyers from Sweden, Belgium, Italy, China and Norway, reports Spanish Property Insight.

2017 is expected to be less successful for the British buyers due to Brexit and probably more successful to Russian buyers due to the stabilisation of exchange rates.
